NCI-2025-02943

A Phase 1, Open-Label, Multicenter Study to Assess the Safety, Tolerability, Pharmacokinetics and Anti-tumor Efficacy of DZD6008 in Patients with Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) with EGFR Mutation (TIAN-SHAN1)

This is a Phase 1 research study testing a new experimental drug called DZD6008 in people who have advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that carries a specific type of genetic mutation in the EGFR gene (epidermal growth factor receptor). This mutation drives cancer growth in a subset of NSCLC patients, and treatments that specifically target this mutation are often more effective than general chemotherapy. Many patients eventually develop resistance to EGFR therapies, so new drugs like DZD6008 are being developed to overcome that resistance and provide another treatment option.

Phase 1: First step in testing a new medicine in people, and tests if treatment is safe, determines the right dose, and checks for any side effects.

Advanced: Advanced cancer means that the cancer cells from the original tumor (primary tumor) get loose, spread by traveling through the body, and start a new tumor (metastatic tumor) somewhere else in the body.

Non-small cell lung cancer: A type of lung cancer with non small cells that grow too much and can spread to other parts of the body

EGFR: Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) is on the surface of cells and helps them grow and divide. In cancer, EGFR is like a switch that gets stuck in the "on" position, making cells grow and divide too much.
